L. A. Rock Review was published in Santa Monica, California from 1988 into 1991. This music newspaper included interviews with many of the top bands from Los Angeles, as well as club news. This issue, Volume 2 Number 5, was published on March 3, 1989 and was the First Anniversary issue of this newspaper. It includes an interview with Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick in which he briefly mentions the 12-string bass. He stated he had about seven 12-string basses at that time.
