The Bass Book

The Bass Book: A Complete Illustrated History of Bass GUitars

First published in 1995 by Tony Bacon and Barry Morehouse, The Bass Book is a small format (7½” by 9½”) coffee table-style book that gives an overview of the development and types of bass guitars. Bacon also authored 2,000 Guitars - The Ultimate Collection and The Ultimate Guitar Sourcebook and he uses the exact same image of a Transparent Red Hamer B12S 12-string bass in all three books. He refers to the 12-string bass as a “specialist item” and includes basic specs in the reference section.
